What will my birth doula do?
Your birth doula will...
- meet with you 3 or more times before your birth to talk about what you want it to be like, what medical procedures you can say yes or no to*, what kinds of comfort measures you can have, answer your labor questions, and more
- be with you from the start of your active labor to the time after your child comes into the world
- check in with you 1 or more times after your birth to talk about what to expect in the first months of parenthood and see how you and your baby are doing
- connect you to resources in the community when you need more support
