Who We Are
The Richmond Doula Project is a collective of full-spectrum doulas in Richmond, VA.
We are a part of the Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project, a 501(c)3 that seeks to further Reproductive Justice by engaging in grassroots advocacy for the full spectrum of reproductive rights.
To offer support and education to people through all pregnancy outcomes, centering POC, LGBTQI, and other underserved communities.
Safe, inclusive, accessible reproductive health support for every member of our community.
The Richmond Doula Project was born after three members attended Ancient Song Doula Services Decolonizing Birth Conference in September 2016. Talking about the gaps in care in the birth world for marginalized communities (including people of color, LGBTQI folks, undocumented folks and more), and seeing that reflected in Richmond, they started the Richmond Doula Project to not only work with these communities, but make sure that people from these communities are a part of the work.
